"Spring Break Ollie"
Welcome to April’s Spirit Week! We thought it would be fun for the children to have another way to join in, with another shot at THE OLLIE PROJECT. But this time, we’re doing it with a twist!
Your child can participate in four easy steps!
- Have your child color and/or decorate Ollie the Otter!
- Cut him out!
- During break, take a picture of Ollie wherever your family ends up! (If you’re traveling, that’s great, but also feel free to take pics in such exotic areas such as “the laundry room,” “the supermarket,” or our personal favorite, “semi-hidden by the toys all over the
floor.”)
- Text your photo to us at 718-577-2371, with your child’s site in the message. We will be posting the photos to our Social Media accounts, so it’s up to you as to whether you include your child in the photo, or not.
If you prefer, feel free to post the photo on YOUR social media, make sure to:
- Tag us @277qRiverviewPTA
- Use hashtag #SpringBreakOllie
- Mention your child’s site in the post.
The site that brings in the highest percentage of Ollies will take ownership of the Coveted Ollie Championship Banner, which was won by Site 76 in December, and has been living there since!

The Ollie Project
Here’s an Ollie the Otter for your child to color / decorate! After they’ve decked Ollie out for the holidays, simply send him back to school in your child’s backpack. The Unit Coordinators will collect them, and display them on a bulletin board during Spirit Week, for everyone to see! The site that collects the highest percentage of Ollies will come back from break to a trophy that they can display until the next Spirit Week, when we’ll do this all over again!
As it is the season of giving, we also ask if, since you’ll be putting something into your child’s backpack to deliver to the PTA anyway , you might have a few dollars to spare to donate to the PTA. We really hope that your child has a lot of fun decorating Ollie, and just between us, we’re rooting for THEIR site to win the coveted Ollie Championship Belt!
