Our school is unique, in that it consists of 12 sites spanning a 3 mile radius, so keeping up with everything going on in every site can be difficult. That’s where the Parent Site Leaders come in! A parent site leader can keep on top of what special events / programs are going on at their child’s school, so that the PTA can make sure we can keep our membership informed! See below.
Money, man. There’s just never enough of it! The people on our fundraiser committee will come up with (and execute) fun and interesting ways to raise money for the PTA so that we can support our students and our school!
The Riverview School throws some really awesome events, all year round! Joining the Event committee is a great way to help figure out how best to support the school at these events, and gather people to show up and help out! And maybe along the way, you could come up with a PTA-specific event or two!
Although separate from our school, The Special Olympics is a fantastic way for our kids to “unleash the champion within.” Our school team attends many meets over the course of the school year, and we’d love the people on this committee to help organize a cheering section for the kids!
A new school can be very confusing for parents and caregivers. There’s a lot of information to learn (and have to keep track of). The PTA board does its best to start the year by guiding parents through as much of it as possible, but what about when kids transfer mid-year? The people on the Welcoming Committee can reach out as students start, to offer answers to the questions that new parents might not even know to ask!
We put a lot of work into our new website, and know that, in this day and age, social media can sometimes be the best way to keep in touch with people! The members of the Social Media + Digital Committee will help ensure that our website and social media are kept up to date over the course of the year!
